I believe pass rates should be open and honest

I believe that we should be open and honest about pass rates. All driving instructors advertise high pass rates but what are the actual rates? The driving test is hard and, unfortunately, it only takes one mistake for someone to fail. This means that nobody can ever guarantee you will pass first time. I can guarantee to teach you well enough that you should pass first time.
My pass rates are displayed below. I am very proud of my pass rate as they compare favourably to both the national average (43%) and the average at Baillieston where I usually use(34%). Remember that these rate are affected by those who maybe have a little trouble passing the test. That is why I have given guidance as to how many pupils pass first time not just a generalised pass rate ie. one person taking 5 tests brings it right down but that is very rare.

This pass rate is the total rate for all tests taken in the given time. eg. 3 tests taken and 2 passes would be 66%

This is the number of pupils who have passed their test so far this year. It currently runs at an average of just under 1 a week. I only work myself at present. When you see adverts for a national school about how often they have a pass, remember how many instructors they have on the road.

This rate shows how many pupils passed first time who took tests between the given dates. This takes account of the fact that everyone is different, some pass first time, some may take more

Please Note : At present the pass rates only include Simon as he has been with the school all year. Percentage-wise pass rates are similar for all instructors. So the amount of passes is for only 1 instructor!
